Thailand ~ New Year's 2008
New Year's was spent in Thailand. We left KL Dec. 27 and returned Jan. 6...we had a great time, despite sick kids the entire vacation and will return again I'm sure (we LOVED Thailand). Steve's cousin Richard has a house on the island of Phuket and he graciously allowed us to stay there ~ an extrodinary feat for a retired bachelor. We used the guest house as "home base", ran around the yard, terrorized the dog and cat and swam in the hot tub/pool. It was great! We rented a car, which gave us freedom and mangaged to get to Krabi on the mainland for a couple days. The kids weren't feeling 100 %, but we swam/"played sand", went to lots of great restaurants, rode elephants, shopped (a little) and just relaxed. Steve spent 2 days of the vacation getting his advanced open water scuba license, which he really enjoyed. So far, one of our top vacation spots for the future...
First day at the beach in Thailand (Phuket)
Fish "bowl" were a restaurant amusement favourite
Hayden feel asleep after supper...it was a long day for him! Nothing like sleeping on the beach!
I guess Alyssa was tired too!

That's right, do your laundry and by a liquor bottle full of gas!
Elephant riding!
Hayden can't be seen because he's lying in my arms sleeping...that's right, sleeping on an elephant!
Krabi sunset ~ and doesn't Hayden look crabby!
we love fish ponds! i was always scared Hayden would jump in (still am)
The beach where we stayed in Krabi ~ the landforms there are amazing!

i am still laughing about the laundry and gasoline in a liquor bottle. So convenient, really.
