Christmas in Malaysia

Xmas Eve swim at the outdoor pool...it was really cold!
Hayden really only cared about his "waja"...keys...he would have been fine with no presents.

the ultimate in surprised looks...i love this photo!

Xmas morning photo at the hotel

getting ready...and yes, steve did skate in shorts...ask him about his scars...

Ok, the worst skates and the worst ice, but it was fun...clearly by the look on Alyssa's face!

Man-made beach ~ the kids LOVED it!

Xmas lunch...hamburgers and chicken hotdogs in the hot sun

A little tired boy ...

...and his even tireder (word?) sister.
Ok, I'm a little late with this...I wish I had more time to blog ~ darn work and parenting get in the way! Since Xmas was going to be different this year, no matter what, we decided to stay at Sunway Pyramid Resort ~ only about 1/2 hour from our house. We arrived around 3p.m Xmas Eve and spent the night. Of course we did a quick swim on Xmas Eve in the outdoor pool!
Santa found us, and the following morning, Alyssa ripped open her presents (and then Hayden's since he wasn't really interested). After presents and breakfast, we went to the mall attached to the hotel. Here, Alyssa tried skating for the first time in her life and loved it! (why didn't we do that in Canada?) After about an hour at the skating rink, we went to Sunway Lagoon which is attached to the hotel. We spent the rest of the morning (until about 1 p.m.) swimming and playing at the man-made beach. Both the kids had a blast. Then, we packed up 2 exhausted kids for the drive home. We ordered pizza for Xmas dinner (at least it had "turkey ham", so almost the same as turkey dinner). We missed our usual Xmas festivities, but not too much since when it's 30 degrees it doesn't feel like Xmas.
