Hanging out

We spent the next few days hanging out at mom and dad's in the snow. And there is a lot of snow this year! Fortunately, the weather was warm and the kids got to spend hours playing in/on it. There was a HUGE snowbank where the drive had been plowed which the kids and Indy climbed on and slid down. I started a quinsy which dad then spent hours cleaning out...only to shortly be destroyed the next day by the Alyssa and Indy playing on top of it. Oh well!

The weather really warmed up and we took the kids to Assessippi for some downhill skiing. Thinking that it might be a short day and not sure of Hayden's interest level, we booked a private lesson for Alyssa with Betty (who let Hayden, Steve and I tag along). By the end of the hour, both kids were confidently zooming down the bunny hill. Hayden with a hoola hoop and Alyssa with encouragement. We finally convinced them we should go up the quad chair to the green lift. After making it up and down once, they were hooked. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time for many more runs as the hill was closing. Turned out to be 3 hours of downhill skiing for both of them. It was great!

Sorry the photos aren't organized...but I'm too lazy at this point

Betty teaching Hayden how to snowplow (make pizzas).

Confident Alyssa.

Gearing up. Remember the brain buckets!

In the small quinsy.

Yep, the snow really is that deep!

The "hill" at Grandma Isy's. Hayden slides, Alyssa digs, Grandma supervises.
