I don't think Alyssa noticed her brother stealing from her plate!Being away from family and friends is one of the most difficult parts of being in another country. Fortunately, most of us are in the same boat and friendships form quickly and we try to ensure everyone has plenty of excuses for getting together. Maureen and Al (from Nelson BC) organized a wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving dinner for us at their place ~ complete with turkey (which is a feat in itself here as ovens are few and far between). I made the pumpkin pies and everyone brought wonderful additions to the meal. Cheers to Canada! We miss all of you!
