Bike Ride

On the second day camping at Lake Louise, we biked from the campsite to the lake - 15 km round trip. It took us 1.5 hrs to get up the mountain and about 20 minutes to get down, not an easy uphill ride. It was even harder for Steve as he pulled both the kids in the Chariot behind his bike ~ glad it wasn't me!

Lately Hayden seems quite into "posing" for pictures...this is "fake laugh" pose.
A well deserved ice cream cone in town when we got back.

Camping - Lake Louise

For our July holiday we decided to go camping with our new camper. Our first stop was at Lake Louise where we spent 2 nights in the tent campground (which to us appeared nicer and more private than the RVspots). The kids rode bikes and hung out at the campground. Alyssa even rode into town for breakfast the first day while Hayden was in the trailer...it was just a little too far for Hayden to ride.

Apparently, kids can't camp with their "uncool" parents so Alyssa and Hayden set up their own campsite, complete with a "baby".

MacNutt

After visiting Bridget, we spent a little more time at mom and dad's. We went to MacNutt to The Magicsty's C-Store to pick up some 'Holy Crap' and then out to see the construction at the honey farm. At the end of main street (can you call it that? - you'd understand if you've been there) there are the very well maintained (privately owned) elevators and a play park...photo op.

Teeter-totters are fun...perfect that our kids weigh almost the same.
While we were hanging with Bridget at Echo Lake, we went to a family friend's cabin (read mansion but since I'm sure their house in Regina is one, we'll call this the 'summer home'). Heck, the Queen even stayed her on her visit to Regina so you know it wasn't too shabby.

Walking across the (gated) property...oh what a full time gardner can do :)

Why swim in the lake when you can swim in this delightfully heated pool?

My little fish...Alyssa loves swimming
Hayden and Sarah taking a 'nap' in the hammock.
The weather was awesome while we were at the lake. Steve took Hayden out in the kayak...Hayden, pleased as punch.

They went really far, but remained upright! Too bad kayaks cost more money than I have...

Jump!

The water was far too cold for me, but it didn't stop Alyssa!

Minnow Catching

We were lucky enough to catch up with our friends Bridget and Aiden this summer at Echo Lake, SK. Her sister had a great "beach front" cabin (lake was too high so no beach!). The kids spent hours catching minnows and playing on the pier.
